Slow Food Supper & Fairyhouse Hall Launch
A Collaboration between Shane Haffey, Jonathan Lundy & TJ Cox
CheFarmer Shane Haffey will host Jonathan’s Event’s partners, Chef Jonathan Lundy and Sommelier TJ Cox for the 2017 Slow Food Supper, in early September. Produce grown from the grounds’ garden and grass-fed pastured meats will be just a couple of the farm to fork features for the evening. Jonathan’s Events will continue their pop-up dinner series for this collaborative effort in a quintessential Kentucky setting at Fairyhouse Hall with a creative and seasonally drive menu, in a setting under the stars. The event will also include libations from by a local distilleries and breweries. The menu will consist of farmed and fresh produce in whimsical combinations true to Jonathan and Shane’s culinary form.
This collaborative dinner event will serve as the annual installment of the Slow Food Lexington event. Slow Food Lexington is part of the Kentucky Proud Farm to Fork Program, which aims to promote agritourism by showcasing curated local food products, pairings and beverages within Kentucky. Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, with over 100,000 volunteer members working to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, and promoting the cultivation of heirloom food varieties.
Chef Jonathan Lundy and TJ Cox began a pop-up catering business at classic Kentucky locations last May and in Feburary 2017, opened Corto Lima in the heart of downtown Lexington. CheFarmer Shane Haffey is from Ireland and began his culinary work in Nice, France, prior to his training at the Culinary Institute of Charleston.
The dinner will officially launch the Fairyhouse Hall Club, for private dining and celebrations. The Chefs have known each other for over twenty years and are excited to collaborate on this great event with Sommelier Cox at the helm of libations.
Garden tours, a spirits tasting, live music and Kentucky trivia will be offered during cocktail hour. Only 60 tickets are available and must be purchased in advance on the Fairyhouse Hall website.
