A Wee Bit About Us
Escapism and Experiences
Fairyhouse Hall, was established as an Anglo/Irish old school guest house for travelers and holiday makers with a private social club for members and guests seeking a life well-lived. As Lexington’s only private country house enclave and culinary/epicurean experience, Fairyhouse Hall embodies the richness of cultured life in the south.
Sleeping 10 to 16 overnight guests and whether you are dining black tie with 8 of your closest friends, hosting a rehearsal dinner or bridal luncheon for 50, attending the races or horse sales at Keeneland, playing golf and spending the weekend on the Bourbon Trail, sending the groom off in style for his bachelor weekend, celebrating a landmark in your life, or simply seeking an exquisite respite; once inside the gate, traveling under the willow tree behind the stone walls, you will be in a Fairyhouse Hall state of mind.
The Georgian inspired estate is a working sustainable farm with formal gardens in the heart of the Bluegrass Bourbon Trail and Thoroughbred Horse Country; within the city limits of Lexington on one of Kentucky's most spectacular designated "Scenic Byways."
Fairyhouse Hall also hosts the Lexington Brown Water Society, and the Irish Speakeasy, hosting a monthly Sunday Supper Series,
We believe that travel and holiday are not mutually exclusive and that all should be approached with the mindset of presence rather than productivity.
We believe that the art of sauntering should become the national past time.
We believe that it is right and just to crave and appreciate beauty for beauties sake.
We believe that those who work hard, are entitled to play hard; even if that means drinking bloodies and bubbles before noon, playing croquet and dozing on the chaise for the afternoon, dining late and garden walking by moonlight.
We believe that one should always dress for dinner; but that “dress” is a relative term and can mean black tie or a monogrammed bathrobe.
We believe the paper invitations are essential for the survival of civilization but paper napkins are the bane of man’s existence as a sensual being.
We believe that even though “to whom much is given, much is expected,” the dutiful deserve the Golden Ticket, the prefect's hall pass and the winning trifecta tote.
We believe that privacy is the ultimate luxury and that what happens behind the gate stays behind the gate.
We believe in the philosophy of Oscar Wilde that "Life is too important to be taken seriously."
